The Downward Spiral of the Mets

I'm a diehard Mets fan. I have been since I was born. I can't remember the last time that this team looked like such a lock for the playoffs. They had 17 games left with a 7 game lead over the Phillies. They're a shoe-in right? Well the Mets have gone 4-10 in their last 14 games and the Phillies have been on fire. Now it's all tied up and the Mets might not even make the playoffs. What is more frustrating is that the Mets had leads as big as 5 runs and blew the game!

Here are my predictions for the last 3 games of the season for Mets, Phillies, and Padres(I'm hoping I'm wrong and you'll see why):

1. Mets-The Marlins aren't on fire by any means, but they've been playing well (a lot better than the Mets have). Now that the Mets lost their lone division lead for the first time since mid-May I think it's finally sinking in that they might not make the playoffs, which will be a huge factor in the upcoming games.. Because of all these factors, Mets will take 2 out of 3 against the Marlins. Final Record=89-73

2. Phillies-The Phillies are one of the hottest teams in baseball, but that doesn't mean anything if the Phillies don't make the playoffs. It is playoffs are bust for them. They'll be extra confident playing a team like the Nationals for their last series. However, the Nationals have won 4 in a row, and nothing would make this team happier than being responsible for a team in their division not making the playoffs (especially after being pegged in the beginning of the season as the worst team in baseball). The Phillies, like the Mets, will take 2 out of 3. Final Record=89-73

3. Padres-Padres have the toughest last 3 games of the season between them, the Phillies, and the Mets. Facing the Brewers away is no easy task, but the Padres have too much to lose and are too good of a team to lose this series. Like the Mets and the Phillies they will also take two out of three. Final Record=90-72, which is a clinch of the wildcard.

The Phillies will be home for the tiebreaker between them and the Mets. The Mets can't beat the Phillies. They have struggeled against them the ENTIRE season and now they are facing them away where the Phillies have to win to make the playoffs. This is going to be the most painful thing to watch in the world, but the Mets will get DESTROYED. It won't even be close, and I will be crying the entire MLB postseason.

Again..I hope I'm wrong
